The Harbor Junior High Youth ministry is a safe place for Junior High students to come together, build a solid faith foundation, and begin the process of making their faith their own. The Harbor meets September through April on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. to accomplish two purposes:
First, we want to provide an environment that will educate young teenagers about their faith and give them an opportunity to grow and participate in God's plan for their lives.
Confirmation is a two-year study of the basics of the Christian faith and the Bible and encouragement into personal relationships with Jesus Christ. The study is incorporated into the curriculum of The Harbor Junior High Youth Ministry. By the end of the 8th grade - the end of the two-year study - students should know what they believe and why and be able to stand and 'confirm' their faith before the congregation as well as stand firm in their faith among their peers. Confirmation education takes place during The Harbor Junior High Youth Group on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m., September through April.
Second, we want them to have fun and build healthy relationships in the process. Activities include games, discussion-style classes, and regularly scheduled outreach and social events.
The Harbor also plans special activities encouraging fellowship with one another and outreach.
